Indications
Catarrhal ailments of the upper respiratory tract: rhinolaryngopharyngitis, bronchitis, whooping cough at all stages. An effective expectorant in chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, coughing fits in tuberculosis.
Mode of action
R8 causes the initiation and recruitment of the defensive system of the organism through active homeopathic remedies, which exert marked organotropic effects on the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract.
Ammonium causticum: Aphonia, voice low, weak with debility or with burning rawness in throat. Great oppression of breathing.
Belladonna: Convulsive coughing attacks, hollow and barking cough; dryness of the mucosa; sudden, violent onset.
Bryonia: Harsh and dry cough with retrosternal or thoracic pain.
Chamomilla: Irritable, dry, tickling cough, suffocative tightness of chest. Rattling of mucus in chest.
Coccus cacti: Hypersensitivity of the pharyngeal mucosa. Spasmodic cough with viscous, stringy expectoration; whooping cough.
Corallium rubrum: Violent, rapid, explosive fits of coughing, causing suffocation.
Cuprum aceticum: Spasmodic cough; dyspnea; viscous mucus.
Drosera: Convulsive barking cough with cyanosis and suffocation; spasmodic asthma; coughing causes intercostal or abdominal pains.
Ipecacuanha: Dry asphyxial cough with glottis spasm, nausea and vomiting.
Thymus vulgaris: Dry nervous asthma, whooping cough, severe spasms but little sputum.
