Indications
Globus hystericus, the subjective sensation of a lump or mass in the throat, sensation may extend from the throat to the stomach. Sensitivity to noises; nervousness; histrionic personality disorder (hysteria). Other symptoms of nervous excitability including: suffocation at night, throbbing and constriction in the throat. Premenstrual aggravation of these symptoms.
Mode of action
Asa foetida: Globus hystericus with spasmodic contractions of the esophagus, as if a foreign object were being swallowed; mental hypersensitivity and irritability.
Coffea: Hypersensitivity to noises; insomnia, great nervousness, excitement and restlessness of the mind.
Glonoinum: Strong, pulsating, and throbbing carotid arteries which are perceivable in the throat, causing a sensation of congestion and suffocation.
Ignatia: Globus hystericus; the sensation of ball-like pressure in the throat, better from swallowing; hysteria is characterized by fear and grief.
Lachesis: Sensation of a lump in the throat made better by swallowing; intolerance to tight collars or anything around the neck; aggravation of symptoms during sleep or upon waking.
Moschus: Hysteria; fits of anger; anxiety with fear of death; hysterical fainting and convulsions; globus hystericus.
Pulsatilla: Globus hysterius and the sensation of pressure in the chest originating from the stomach, aggravated before or during menses or from suppressed menses.
R47 is effective in feminine complaints of this nature, in women of all ages from childhood to menopause, and onwards. These complaints may be caused by functional anomalies of the ovaries. The ingredients in this specialty particularly Lachesis and Pulsatilla, positively influence and support ovarian function.
