Indications
Pleurisy, pleuritis, pneumonia; inflammation of the serous membranes, accompanied by characteristic stinging pains. Appendicitis, ovaritis, peritonitis, pericarditis, etc.; acute arthritis and polyarthritis; intercostal neuralgia.
Mode of action
Bryonia: Acts mainly on the pulmonary mucosa and serosa; pneumonia; serofibrinous pleurisy, pleuropneumonia, pleural congestion; tracheitis, bronchitis; acute rheumatic arthritis; all pains are aggravated from motion; intercostal neuralgia.
Cimicifuga: Pleurodynia, especially of the right side, pains in the pleura; arthritis, rheumatism; neuralgic pains; general nervous disposition.
Colocynthis: Influences the nervous system; effective in the treatment of neuralgia of the intercostal nerves; characteristic stabbing, shooting pains, which force patient to bend double.
Kalium carbonicum: Pleurodynia, pleurisy, especially right sided; stitching, tearing pains in the chest which are non-localized; pains are worse in the mid-afternoon; pneumonia; exhaustion, sweating.
Natrium sulfuricum: Pneumonia with productive cough and green sputum; pains are aggravated from damp weather or warm, humid weather; pain in the region of the lower left chest.
Ranunculus bulbosus: Intercostal neuralgia, especially of lower left chest. Sharp, shooting pains in the chest, aggravated by inspiration, pressure, motion, and a change in weather; pleurisy; painful pneumonia or bronchitis.
