Psyllium Hulls is a bulk laxative supplement.

Description

Psyllium Hulls is a bulk laxative supplement.

Psyllium is a mucilaginous herb, whose tiny flea-shaped seeds (greek psylla means flea) can swell up to 14 times their original size when soaked in water. Psyllium hulls, also called husks, are the outer coverings of psyllium seeds, containing the majority of the bulking mucilage — complex carbohydrates that expand, becoming gelatinous when soaked in water. Psyllium hulls act like a colon “broom,” cleansing the intestines as it comes in contact with the walls of the intestines.

Did you know? There are two types of fiber: insoluble and soluble. The insoluble fiber or roughage is indigestible and works like a broom in the large intestine to giving bulk and size to stools and promotes regularity. Soluble fiber, which absorbs many times its own weight in water, binds with fat, cholesterol and debris in the intestinal tract for elimination. Psyllium hulls provides both soluble and insoluble fiber.
