How do you know if you’re getting a good night’s rest?

By Brock Boyd

Sure, you might be sleeping 8 hours a night, but are you getting a deep REM(rapid eye movement) sleep? Do you perhaps wake up to go to the washroom and then have difficulty getting back to sleep? Is someone else’s snoring keeping you from snoozing? We could (or might have already) take drastic measures to try and get more sleep, but what if we could work smarter, not harder.

While there are lots of issues that could potentially be impacting our sleep cycle, quite commonly there are a few big ones to look out for. The biggest would be when and what we eat. The other main culprit is using our cell phone/TV/computer in bed.

But let’s say we take good care of ourselves and yet still we’re getting awful sleeps.

Don’t worry, we have the solution. While we would absolutely recommend a Zyto Elite Scan to see what is being impacted in the sleep section, one thing I love to recommend is the Sleep Great capsules from Healthology. Jackie and I both use this product personally and not only are we getting better sleep but we’re waking up with more energy and usually a better attitude as well. That combined with the REM Super Patch and you’ll be bursting into 2024 with a new attitude and energy!

SYMPTOMS

Risks associated with not getting a good night’s rest include:

  • The ability to think clearly, learn and retain memories
  • Our immune system is weak, causing frequent cold/flu or difficulty getting over infections
  • Our appetite and blood sugar levels
  • Insomnia
  • Risk of weight gain
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes

When we don’t produce enough melatonin, we have an increased amount of cortisol, our stress hormone, which can lead to anxiety, depression, irritability and difficulty coping with stress.
